The 2013 Scots Trad Music Awards and Gala Concert is on the 7th December, Aberdeen Music Hall.

From its inception in 2003, the ‘Awards’ have steadily grown in popularity and prestige attracting television coverage by the Gaelic channel in 2007 and major sponsorship from MG ALBA in 2008.

The Scots Trad Music Awards, which is organised by ‘Hands Up For Trad’ is seen as ‘The Oscars’ for traditional music. There are two stages, nominating and voting both involving the general public in the process.

First started in 2003 the Awards attract over 100,000 votes from all over the world.

The winners are announced at a glittering Gala Concert and Awards Ceremony, an event that is considered a major highlight in the traditional music calendar. If you would like to attend you can find out more here.
