Described by The Herald as “a truly stunning voice”, Maeve Mackinnon is an award winning Gaelic singer who hails from Glasgow.

Her 2007 debut solo album “Don’t Sing Lovesongs” was widely acclaimed on its release, amassing a string of accolades including 5 stars from Scotland On Sunday and featuring in Celtic Connections festival 2008′s “Classic Albums” series.

An Honours graduate of the RSAMD, Maeve was voted “Up and Coming Artist of the Year” at the 2007 Trad Music Awards. She was subsequently nominated for “Gaelic Singer of the Year” in 2008 and 2011 respectively.

Recent and ongoing collaborations include Cula (featuring Lauren MacColl and Ewan MacPherson); Michael McGoldrick’s Future Trad Collective; The Island Tapes and Sketch. Maeve’s second solo album is due for release in Spring 2012.
