Demand for the Tinto summer schools is extremely high and they sell out very quickly. Registration is open now. Hands Up for Trad presents new, exciting, educational opportunities through our hugely popular Tinto Summer School Programme. Now in its 13th year, Tinto Summer School offers young people (12-25) an intensive, residential, traditional music learning experience. Participants can immerse themselves in Scotland’s rich traditional music culture and learn from some of our leading industry professionals at Wiston Lodge, near Biggar (www.wistonlodge.co.uk). With generous support from Creative Scotland, Hands Up for Trad will offer two Tinto Summer Schools this Summer (12-18) and an additional Tinto Summer School Senior Weekend (18-25). We also offer six Trainee Tutor Placements to young adults who wish to develop their music teaching skills.
Tinto Summer School 13: Monday 2nd July – Saturday 7th July (12-18)

Hands Up for Trad are delighted to offer a new Weekend Summer School for young adults, interested in developing their music skills through a series of specifically tailored workshops and sessions.
Trainee Tutor Placement Opportunities
Additionally, in 2012 Hands Up for Trad offers a unique learning experience to six Trainee Tutors. These Trainee Tutor Placement opportunities are open to exceptionally motivated individuals who wish to develop their teaching skills with experienced music tutors under the mentoring support of Hands Up for Trad. Each trainee tutor will work closely within the Tinto Summer School team and gain invaluable tutoring experience in a supportive environment.
