Fèis Alba, the annual Ceilidh Trails training event, will take place in Plockton from the 2nd to 13th
July and will welcome more than fifty young musicians from across Scotland. As with previous
years, participants will take part in a wide variety of workshops which will equip them with the
skills they need to go out on tour. The final night of the Fèis will see Ceilidh Trail participants
from Fèis Chataibh, Fèis Rois and Fèis Fhoirt joining participants of Fèisean nan Gàidheal’s annual
Drama Summer School – Sgoil Shamraidh Dhrama, for a joint performance at Sabhal Mor Ostaig.
Following Fèis Alba, eight Ceilidh Trails will be heading out on tour throughout the Highlands
and Islands including the new Fèis Fhoirt Ceilidh Trail, funded through the Year of Creative
Scotland Culture and Tourism fund and the Lomond and Trossachs National Park and the new
‘Trad Trails’ National Ceilidh Trail which is being run by Fèis Rois in partnership with the TMSA,
also funded as part of the Year of Creative Scotland.
