Whilst there are no plans to run Living Tradition Summer Schools in 2012, there is an alternative which we can recommend and which we think many of you would enjoy. John Weatherby, one of our tutors, has established a series of weekend workshops in his recording studios in Moffat. Moffat is easily accessible, just off the M74 and roughly equidistant between Carlisle and Glasgow, in the delightful countryside of the Scottish Borders.
The workshops are residential, the studios have six bedrooms in a comfortable large modern house. There is some capacity for motor homes and other accommodation available locally.

As with all our summer schools, teaching on offer will be excellent but, with plenty of opportunity for sessions and relaxation, these would make a good base for a holiday with music.

If you want to stay longer in the area, some accommodation will be available before or after the weekends on a largely self-catering basis. If this takes your fancy and you have any questions, contact John by email and he will be pleased to call you to discuss options.

FIDDLE (3rd-5th) led by PETE CLARK
SONG (10th-12th) led by ROD PATERSON
GUITAR (17th-19th) led by STEVE HICKS

Other instruments are welcome and some teaching may be available on a less formal basis. Our advice: treat this as a holiday with music and come and have a good time!

Accommodation

The studio is attached to an exclusive comfortable facility with accommodation for up to 12 people and ample parking for motor homes etc., should the requirement be to facilitate larger parties. All accommodation is full board with all meals and refreshments supplied. We aim to provide simple wholesome food and all meals are prepared onsite by our own housekeeping team, who are always on hand to supply teas, coffees etc, to keep the creative juices flowing.
